HOW I BRING THE MIX TO LIFE

1

DISCOVERY AND ALIGNMENT

We start with a conversation. I want to understand not just your mix goals, but your creative intent, references, emotional targets, and how you want the listener—or viewer—to feel.

THE MIX

I get to work! Whether it’s meant to lift a dance floor, cut through a radio playlist, or underscore a character’s turning point, every decision is intentional and genre-aware, with a balance of vibe and technical excellence.

COLLABORATION

After the first pass, you’ll receive a reference bounce to review. We’ll fine-tune based on your feedback, focusing on feel, detail, and any notes. Revisions are part of the process—not a hurdle—and the goal is always the same: make it unforgettable.

4

FINALIZATION

Once the mix is approved, I deliver print-ready files. For music clients, that means a clean alt, accapella, and instrumental versions as well as your mixed stems. If you’ve opted into mastering, Emily Lazar brings her Grammy-winning touch to finalize your track. For composers, I prepare stem and full mix deliverables in accordance with post houses, streamers, and studio guidelines.

HERE'S WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

MAKING YOUR VISION A REALITY.
ONE MIX AT A TIME.

Michael Badal is a Los Angeles-based mixing engineer trusted by artists, producers, and composers who need their sound to connect–whether that’s on stage, on the radio, or on the screen.

As a respected figure in electronic music, Michael’s work has been championed by legends like Tiesto, Kaskade, Armin van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Ferry Corsten, and Markus Schulz. His mixes consistently earn support across radio, streaming, and the world’s biggest stages. He understands the intricacies of club-ready sonics — from powerful low-end energy to the spatial depth needed for emotional, melodic records.

Michael’s skillset extends beyond the dance floor. His credits as a score mixer include major network series like CBS’s The Equalizer and S.W.A.T as well as Netflix’s The Night Agent — delivering emotionally resonant mixes tailored to both cinematic and commercial contexts.

Clients come to Michael for more than just clean sonics. They trust his ability to translate creative intent into a polished, purposeful mix—combining the precision of an engineer with the instincts of a producer.

If your music or score needs to carry weight, clarity, and emotional impact, Michael is the partner who helps bring that vision fully to life.

  • What's included in the mix rate?
For music clients, you’ll receive a final main mix, clean alternate, instrumental, acapella, and a full set of mixed stems. For score clients, I deliver the approved main mix and group stems prepared for the dub stage. Everything is formatted and print-ready.
  • How long does a mix take?
You’ll receive the first pass within 5 business days. Revisions can impact the timeline, especially if there are creative pivots or indecision. That said, I always aim for efficiency and clarity without compromising quality.
  • How many revisions are included?
Each mix includes up to 3 revision rounds. Most projects are approved within that range, but if more are needed, additional rounds are available for a fee.
  • Can I be involved in the process?
Absolutely. Whether you have a crystal-clear vision or you’re still discovering the sound, I welcome collaboration. The more direction and references you bring, the more focused and efficient our work together will be.
  • Is mastering included?
I’ve partnered with a very well-known Grammy-winning mastering engineer and their service is available as an add-on. Clients are allowed one revision and are encouraged to share reference tracks so the mastering reflects your taste and target platforms.
  • I’ve worked with cheaper engineers before—why is your rate higher?
I understand that this is a serious investment. What you’re paying for isn’t just clean sonics; it’s 20 years of genre-specific expertise, a hybrid analog/digital workflow, and a level of care that’s earned trust from major labels, TV studios, and global artists. If your music is important, the final mix deserves that same level of intention.
  • What if I don’t love the first mix?
That’s exactly why revisions are built in. My job isn’t just to mix—it’s to interpret your vision and bring it to life. If something feels off, we’ll dial it in together. Most of my clients end up loving the first or second pass, but I’m here until we get it right.
  • Will my music hold up on streaming, radio, or in a theater?
Yes. My mixes are built to translate across platforms—whether you’re releasing a single on Spotify, syncing a scene on Netflix, or debuting at a festival. Every decision I make considers where your sound will live and how it should feel when it gets there.

You’ve put everything into the music—ready to give it the mix it deserves?
